ViVisection for Thursday Poetry Rally

Posted: October 7, 2010 in Uncategorized

A little bit of nonsense for the Poetry Rally http://jingleyanqiu.wordpress.com/2010/10/06/thursday-poets-rally-week-30/

ViVisection

The virus of poetry
is my predilection.
Research into this
is via vivisection.

An animal’s brain,
opened for inspection
no poem was found
so a change of direction.

They tried a new species
after careful selection.
Poetry, introduced by injection,
sadly meets with instant rejection.

And so thereupon
with careful reflection
a cure was sought
for this strange infection.

By now I am prone
to deep introspection,
constantly searching
I aim for perfection.

But  no matter how long
I spend on correction
my poem is nothing
but frothy confection.

Coda
Although some regard her
with deepest affection,
poetry sent her quite mad
so we must section ViVi.

Lol! This was funny, because I sort of imagined aliens. But, I think it would seem even cooler if “Poetry, introduced with injection” was “induced by injection” XD I wonder if that would be an illegal drug. Making the population overcrowd with good Poets. And now, this comment is unrelated. ><
